Curriculum & Assessment:

GCSE Success Folder (DGE)

The GCSE Success Folder (found here) is a folder in the google drive that RDT and I share with year 11 students. It contains revision resources organised by subject that have been compiled previously by curriculum leaders. Please do look through what is in there for your subject and tidy up and update as appropriate.

 

A level UCAS predicted grades

The A level predicted grades which were submitted by teachers at the end of September can be found here. If you wish to change the grade for a student, please email both JHE and JFT to let us know the student’s name and the grade change, we will then update the sheet. We will not be changing any grades after 17th November as that is the deadline we have given students to submit their applications to us. Thank you for all your support of Year 13 students during this busy term for them.

 

Sixth Form Academic monitoring

Thank you to all of you who have placed Year 12 and Year 13 students on academic monitoring so far, we will be reviewing the HT1 progress check data for both year groups to decide if any students need to go onto Stage 2 academic monitoring. Please can we ask that you phone home when you are contacting parents/carers about students going onto stage 1? We are aware of many students who have access to their parent’s email addresses, so it is best to make a follow up phonecall to check the parent/carer has received the email.

Exams

GCSE Mock exams – Subject Requirements – deadline Thu, 2nd Nov

Please could you add in the enclosed document the GCSE Mock requirements for your subjects. I left the 2022 info in the second tab, so you can copy and paste, should you wish to keep with the same arrangements. Please fill in this info by Thu, 2nd Nov so I can then start drafting the mock exams timetable and plan for the access arrangements process. Any questions, please email OSH/add comments.

Cover sheet for the GCSE question papers & answer booklets is linked here – please drop these to LG.18 before 27th Nov.

 

PCE HT1 – Data Drop (DGE)

As per the Academy Calendar, the all staff deadline for HT1 progress checks is 5pm on Wednesday 8th November. Curriculum leaders then have until 3:45pm on Friday 10th November to quality assure these grades. Years 11 and 13 will receive a full progress check (prediction, most recent assessment grade and AtL scores. Years 7 and 12 will only receive AtL scores. Any questions please ask.

• Learning Visits

All teachers (excluding ECTs) will need to have a learning visit completed and recorded on SISRA Observe before Friday 15th December.

The CL meeting on 15th November will focus on a few tweaks that have been made to the form on SISRA Observe and developmental feedback identifying clear action steps for teachers to make incremental improvements in their practice against the Chelsea Absolutes and Core Aspects.

Please arrange your learning visits within the four week window after the CL meeting.

As part of our inquiry into Boys’ Educational Underachievement, we found four schools that have closed the gap for boys at secondary school.

We have organised a short webinar at which they will speak. Thursday 30th November 4pm – 5.15pm
