Access Arrangements Assessor

Remuneration: TLR 2a, £3390 per annum in addition to main salary
Start: As soon as possible 

Following the resignation of the previous Coordinator last term, an exciting opportunity has arisen. The Academy requires an Access Arrangements (AA) Assessor to lead on Access Arrangements for students taking internal and public examinations at the Academy, who require reasonable adjustments as a result of their SEND/ other.

This is a very important post and the successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCO and Data & Examinations Manager to ensure all AA are in place as a result of students having been assessed in a timely fashion.  We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills who is energised by developing into this unique role. You will undertake the coordinating, planning, arrangement and submission of Exam Access Arrangements for students  in line with Awarding Body regulations. It is a much sought after skill and qualification and therefore  presents a great career opportunity. It is a requirement that the successful candidate holds a teaching qualification usually at Level 5 or above (e.g. QTS/PGCE) and in addition the Level 7 Assessor qualification. You will be supported to complete this as soon as possible following on from appointment. Time will be allocated to help complete the functions of this role at key points of the year and this will be discussed upon appointment of the successful candidate. 

In particular, candidates should have:

  • An understanding of different SEND that will likely require a young person to have Access Arrangements in place
  • The ability to complete the statutory L7 qualification ‘on the job’
  • To be familiar with the JCQ AA and Reasonable Adjustments 2024/25 policy
  • To provide a range of checklists to audit the implementation of Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) across the school to ensure JCQ Regulations are met
  • Complete Form 8 reports, filenotes and GDPR forms in line with JCQ regulations
  • Maintain and keep accurate records including recording information on relevant spreadsheets and forms
  • A willingness to research best practice and work in collaboration with the SENDCo, members of the LT and Data & Examinations Manager
  • A willingness and ability to deliver high quality training to staff such as invigilators and TAs
  • An ability to manage and organise their own time
